Brushwood Folklore Center 2020 Workshop Presenter’s Application
Please fill in all the required information and click the “Submit” button when your application is complete. You will receive a confirmation e-mail message when your application is received. Please note: If you are applying for both Sirius Rising and Sankofa please submit different workshops for each event. For Other events submit only two workshops. Only a few select workshops will be approved that include a minimal material fees.
Sankofa (11th Year), July 13 -19, is looking for workshops focusing on performing and visual arts including dancing, tribal belly dancing, singing, writing, music and hands on crafts workshops (e.g., jewelry making, wand making, large scale puppet making). Workshops supporting evening performances are encouraged (Spoken Word, Bodies in Motion, Brushwood Choir) and Saturday’s Extravaganza (Talent Show & Fire). Sirius Rising (26th Year), July 20 – 26, is looking for rituals with elemental focus (earth, air, fire and water). Looking for Astrology and world religion workshops focusing on neo-pagan, spiritual, esoteric, metaphysical. Workshops with an elemental focus and mind, body and spiritual connection are preferred. Also looking for more drumming, didgeridoo and tribal music workshops. Participants will celebrate their astrological signs on the day of the week that correlates with their sign’s element: Air (Mon) Gemini, Libra, Aquarius; Fire (Tue) Aries, Leo, Sagittarius Water (Wed) Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces; Earth (Thu) Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn. Friday focus on Spirit and Ancestors (Labyrinth, Ancestor Ritual). All signs are celebrated at during the Saturday Celebration and Fire. For more about this event go to Sirius Rising Information
